MEMBERSHIP

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER AND WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

Membership to MSU-IIT College Red Cross Youth Council is open to all MSU-IIT Students. Interested students may visit the rcy.msuiit.edu.ph or message the official MSU-IIT CRCY social media platforms ( facebook , Instagram and X ) for additional informations. Volunteer Roll Call happens only once every semester. And must fill up the online form must attached other required forms (a 2x2 photo and Parents’ or Guardians’ Consent Form in JPG format). 


WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS IN JOINING MSU-IIT CRCY?

Students who are interested in joining the MSU-IIT CRCY will be equipped and trained with Leadership skills, Safety and Disaster Management Skills, Youth led-initiatives projects, Environmental, Health and Well-being programs and will be expose  to Volunteering life with Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. And by joining MSU-IIT CRCY, students will become part of the million volunteers of the Philippine Red Cross, as well as, the international community of volunteers of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement all over the world.


I WANT TO JOIN MSU-IIT CRCY, WHAT ARE THE TRAININGS REQUIRED TO BECOME A MEMBER?

Yes, there are 3 trainings required for you to join MSU-IIT CRCY! These are Volunteer Roll Call: Council Orientation Program, Youth Volunteer Formation Course- Leadership Development Program and Emergency First Aid. Read here to know more about the trainings.

IS THERE A MEMBERSHIP STATUS TO FOLLOW?

Membership status is divided into 2 categories: Trainees and First Aider Members. The membership status of the individual members is monitored by the CRCY Committee Coordinators and the Vice President.


Trainees

These are the new members of the council complying with the 3 required trainings/lectures namely: VOLUNTEER ROLL CALL: ORIENTATION PROGRAM, YOUTH VOLUNTEER FORMATION COURSE- LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (YVCF- LDP) and EMERGENCY FIRST AID TRAINING (EFAT) of the council. 


Trainees are welcome and encouraged to join the different activities of the Council including it's support services, institutionalized and special projects. Once on-field, these members are led by First Aider Members. Trainees are also qualified to run for the Organization Leadership Office of the organization.  Members of Senior Red Cross Youth from different councils who are admitted in MSU-IIT must renew their training and shall be automatically put into Trainee status. 


First Aider Members

These are members of MSU-IIT CRCY Council who already underwent the YVFC-LDP and EFAT. These members are certified to provide First Aid Assistance monitored by and expected to submit a monthly activity report to Council President, the Office of Medical and Dental Health Services and the Philippine Red Cross- Iligan City Chapter.

MSU-IIT IDS SRCY

IDS students who are incoming freshmen to MSU-IIT must also undergo/renew the required trainings of MSU-IIT CRCY. 


Members on hiatus or Idle Membership

Members who opted to focus on their academics, other organizations, personal matters and wished not to be considered for volunteering activities or any activities of the council for the current semester/academic year; deeming their MSU-IIT CRCY membership idle or unavailable; must write a letter addressed to the Council President thru their Committee Coordinator/s stating its intention and reason/s. This letter must be renewed if they wish to continue their "idle membership" for another semester. Returning idle members must notify the president and their respective committee coordinators upon their return. 


Membership exclusion; members who wish to stop their membership with MSU-IIT CRCY altogether must also write a letter addressed to the council president thru their Committee Coordinator/s stating its intention and reason/s.



I AM CURRENTLY A MEMBER/OFFICER OF ANOTHER STUDENT ORGANIZATION, AM I STILL ELIGIBLE TO JOIN CRCY?

Yes, you are eligible to join MSU-IIT CRCY. The Council is one of the many red cross youth councils under the Philippine Red Cross and  the International Committee of Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. It anchors towards volunteerism to achieve humanitarian goals. This means that your commitment or affiliations to other organizations does not prohibit you to join CRCY or any of its activities. But CRCY follows the Red Cross Protocols, bearing the Philippine Red Cross affiliation that contradicts with its principles or misuse of emblems shall be a subject to prohibition and is punishable under  the jurisdiction of Philippine Red Cross. These protocols will be discussed on the Volunteer Roll Call: Council Orientation and Youth Volunteer Formation Course. 

IS MSU-IIT CRCY A RECOGNIZED STUDENT ORGANIZATION OF MSU-IIT?

Yes, MSU-IIT CRCY is recognized by both the Philippine Red Cross- Iligan City Chapter and MSU-IIT as one of the official student organization of MSU- IIT. As a recognized student organization of the University, MSU-IIT CRCY follows the rules and regulations, conduct of activities and required documentations and assessments of the Office of Student Development Services, Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Services and the University. The membership to MSU-IIT is in accordance with the Constitutions and By-Laws (CBLS) of MSU-IIT CRCY submitted to the Office of Student Development Services. This will remain as is unless a new CBLS ratified by the members of the MSU-IIT CRCY or revoked by higher authority of the University and Philippine Red Cross.

I WANT TO JOIN MSU-IIT CRCY TRAININGS BUT I DON'T WANT TO COMPROMISE MY SCHEDULE. ARE TRAININGS REALLY NECCESSARY?

MSU-IIT CRCY prioritize your studies. Though, there are 3 trainings/lectures are required for membership. These trainings and activities are scheduled based on the collective availability of the members and are subject to recommendations and approval of the Council Advisers and the University. As much as we want you to join us without the required trainings, we are expected to commit voluntarily and render service to the University once needed, some of which are First Aid Stations and monitoring, Community services and other activities that requires practical skills and knowledge provided by the trainings CRCY requires. But members who fail to join the trainings consecutively do not prohibit their participation in the council. They are very much welcome to continue their trainings depending on their availability.The Membership Committee composed by the Vice President and Committee Coordinators will help you monitor your membership status. 

You may also join CRCY and Friends program, this is the avenue for students who supports the CRCY and Philippine Red Cross specific projects and services without joining the council. 

I'M A SENIOR RED CROSS YOUTH DURING MY SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL YEAR, WILL I STILL JOIN THE TRAININGS HERE IN MSU-IIT CRCY?

MSU-IIT CRCY welcomes incoming SRCY to CRCY. The interested SRCY must renew their trainings here in MSU-IIT CRCY. SRCY membership status will be automatically put into trainee status. 

I AM A MEMBER OF MSU-IIT CRCY AND I WANT TO PARTICIPATE TO THE PHILIPPINE RED CROSS- ILIGAN CITY CHAPTER ACTIVITIES WILL I STILL SEEK PERMISSION TO MSU-IIT CRCY OFFICERS AND ADVISERS?

MSU-IIT CRCY members which will have an off-campus activities must to seek permission in a form of a letter and process the necessary requirements required by the Office of Student Developmental Services. 

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR OFF-CAMPUS ACTIVITIES?

All off-campus activities; co -curricular or extra curricular including volunteering activities are subject to CHED memo 63 s. 2017. This is facilitated and monitored by the Office of Student Developmental Services. Please refer to the MSU-IIT Student Guide. 

I WANT TO JOIN THE PROJECTS OF MSU-IIT CRCY NOT THE AS A MEMBER OF MSU-IIT CRCY COUNCIL, CAN I JOIN SPECIFIC PROJECTS?

Yes, we are happy to let you join and share your expertise, skills and knowledge our projects or activities without joining MSU-IIT CRCY Council. Please refer to our CRCY and friends Program

FEES

HOW MUCH DOES THE MEMBERSHIP FEES COST?

The membership fees of MSU-IIT CRCY Council costs 320 pesos. 

This fee will be submitted to Philippine Red Cross- Iligan City Chapter and will issue your MAAB Card. The Council will distribute your MAAB Card along with the official receipt. Please keep your MAAB Card along with the official receipt, the council will not keep any records or photocopies of your MAAB Card or receipts. The fee covers materials and other needed supplies and provision of both required trainings. Triangular Bandages in EFAT is excluded. Members may bring their own triagular bandages or may acquire the triangular bandage of MSU-IIT CRCY. 

The fund covers the projects of the MSU-IIT CRCY annually. 

This fund is used only for emergency cases and double as transitionary and savings funds for the CRCY's any activities or trainings for the next semester.

The Fees to MSU-IIT CRCY is paid annually. MAAB 

WHEN DO I PAY?

Full payments starts on or before Emergency First Aid. The Membership and Trainings committee will assist you in your payment process.

I WANTED TO WITHDRAW MY PARTICIPATION TO MSU-IIT. CAN I GET A REFUND?

Yes, a member can have a training refund with exception of the MAAB. You may coordinate with Council's Treasurer.
